The theme of tonight’s Hop is “Singer/Songwriter and Spoken Word”. And as always the streets will be closed for strolling. Participating galleries including this one, restaurants and shops will be open late. More details here.

>> Poetry in Plain Sight:
Live Readings by Poetry in Plain Sight Poets in the Downtown Arts District during the Gallery Hop including my girl, the talented Jacinta White. Poetry in Plain Sight is a program presented by Winston-Salem Writers, in collaboration with Press 53, that brings poetry to downtown Winston-Salem. Four poems are chosen monthly and displayed on posters in over 20 locations throughout Winston-Salem’s Arts District and downtown. The goal is to bring poetry to a wider audience and to support North Carolina poets. >>The Second City presents Free Speech! (While Supplies Last):
A troupe from The Second City, the premier comedy group that boasts famous alumni like Dan Ackroyd, John Belushi,  Steve Carell, Bill Murray, Mike Myers, Martin Short, Gilda Radner, and Amy Sedaris (along with many many others) will be performing in nearby Yadkinville Saturday night. Free Speech! (While Supplies Last) is an irreverent look at America’s electoral insanity. This topical new show features political satire made famous by Second City stars like Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert and Keegan-Michael Key, as well as brand new scenes, songs and improv. Only a few tickets are left for this must-see show featuring some of Chicago’s best and brightest. Warning: may contain adult content.
